Cape Cod

This past weekend was spent visiting Grandma Sue and Grandpa Dick at their cottage on the beach. We had a ton of fun. Last year Charlotte LOVED being in the water, she would just sit there splashing like she was just in the tub. This year I think she realized how big the ocean really was and it was a little scary. Eventually we were able to get her in without her crying. Stephe said he actually had her laughing out there by the end of the trip.

We had an indoor pool at our hotel which she was also unsure about.
She loved playing in the sand.

One funny story from the weekend was every time we'd ask Charlotte if she was at the beach or having fun at the beach she would reply with a "bzzzzzzzzz". I guess she was confusing us saying beach with bee! It was adorable!!

Here are a couple video clips.

Billy Joel & Music Together

Two weeks ago was father's day. We spent the afternoon at Uncle Paul's camp. It was a cool and dreary day but that didn't stop us from having a good time. The camp has 2 of Charlotte's favorite things... Lots of stairs and water! I was exhausted when we left from following her around trying to keep her out of trouble.

Here are Charlotte and Ryan making sandcastles.

Having fun driving the boat. Uncle Paul showed her the horn which she had a lot of fun beeping.
Charlotte's first real boat ride with Brookie driving. As you can see by hair blowing, we actually went pretty fast... Of course being the little dare devil she is, she loved it!

Sunday night, we stopped at Grandma Sue and Grandpa Dick's house for a quick father's day cookout. Then we left Charlotte there so Stephe and I could go see Billy Joel. We had a nice time, it was a really good show. There were no cameras allowed but being the crazy camera lady now, I had mine in my pocket and managed to snap a couple pictures.

This past Saturday was Charlotte's last Music Together class. I'm kind of sad that it's over but the timing is great to take a break since summer's here and the weekends start filling up with other activities. We'll sign up again in the fall. Charlotte really seemed to enjoy the class. I remember the very first class, she wouldn't leave my lap and actually cried when the teacher came around collecting the instruments at the end of the songs. By the end of the 10 weeks, she was still pretty shy and wanted to stay close to me for the first couple songs but eventually she would wonder into the mix with the other kids. Also, she would see the cleanup bin come out and literally bolt to it so she could throw her instruments into it. The other parents in the class made the comment that Charlotte definitely gets most improved. I didn't take my camera to the last class so here's a picture from an earlier one.

I'll end this post with perhaps a glimpse into the future??? :)

Dr. Charlotte May Landry
Hmmmm... I like the sounds of that!

Welcome!

I finally decided to start a blog to post what we're up to. I'm so bad at taking pictures or even remembering to have my camera that I'm afraid Charlotte won't be able to look back at her childhood. I know I'm starting to feel guilty because I asked Stephe for a new camera for my birthday, one that is small enough to fit in my pocket so I have no excuse! :) I really think I'm going to get my act together. I may even try to figure out how to use the video camera!

It feels weird to go back and write about the last 16.5 months so I won't try. I'll just jump in to now. This past weekend was ridiculously hot so we decided to set up the kiddie pool(s) for Charlotte and Lainey to keep cool. I think they both enjoyed it.

Sunday we had 2 big birthdays. Our niece Gaby turned 13!! It doesn't seem possible... I remember the first time I met her she wasn't even 3. Our other niece Hunter turned 4. We went to her birthday party at the Drawbridge Puppet Theater. It was a great little princess party. Hunter was such a ham and Charlotte really liked the show as well. I thought she might be a little young but she actually sat and watched the whole story. It was probably a 30 minute show and the story was Cinderella. She really liked the little bird and every time a puppet left the stage or the curtain closed, she clapped then waved and said bye! After the party Charlotte enjoyed walking around the grounds outside the theater.
