Wedding & Springsteen

Saturday afternoon, my cousin Pam got married. It was beautiful outdoor ceremony with a spectacular view of Mount Monadnock. When Uncle David was walking Pam down the isle, I went to snap a picture and my camera said low battery. :( So unless someone sends me a picture, you'll just have to take my word, she was beautiful bride (and Derek & Caleb were VERY handsome in their tuxes). I'm sure Pam had a few nervous thoughts about the weather since they were predicting severe thunderstorms in the afternoon. It's funny how things have a way of working out. We could hear little rumblings of thunder off in the distance during the ceremony but the rain held out until we were walking to the car. It was perfect.

Saturday night, Charlotte had an overnight at Gammy & Grampy's so Stephe and I could go see Springsteen at Gillette Stadium with the Dech family. We borrowed Krista's van so we could all fit in one car. I was SO glad we did that because, not only did it make the ride more fun, when we got there, parking was $40! Such a rip off. The tickets said show time was 7:30 but the band didn't get on stage until about 9:15-9:30ish. Bruce apologized at the end of the show and mentioned they were caught in severe thunderstorms. I have to say I believe that was the problem because shortly after we got to our seats, we (well, all of us but Stephe) were stuck in a downpour. There was no getting to cover since the whole place was trying to get inside. The thunder and lightening were a little scary since we were sitting by a giant metal light pole. Eventually we made our way to a little overhang but the damage was done. My hair was a rats nest and my clothes were completely drenched. It lasted only 10 or 15 minutes and when it passed, we made our way back down to our seats. About 2 minutes later, here comes Stephe, completely dry with a margarita and a smile!! So typical that he has that good luck of getting up for a drink about 1 minute before the rain started! LOL I have to say the concert was awesome, just an old fashion rock & roll show. I'm not a huge fan of his, although I definitely like him. Stephe and Kevin are though and have been since the 80's. The man has to be pushing 60 and still puts on such a high energy show. The whole stadium danced and sang for three straight hours! It was pretty neat to see his fan base too, a lot of parents taking their kids. I know I had fun watching Zac & Wendy at their first concert having a blast. They were really into it! They grew up listening to Kevin's music which of course includes lots of Springsteen. It made me think I can't wait to do this kind of stuff with Charlotte.
