Holy Smokes!!!!!

What an incredible day! This has to rank up there with one of the coolest things I've ever done!! Dad, Mich and I all LOVED Alpine Ziplining and I'm sure will be doing this again sometime.

Here we are in the shop getting our gear on and goofing around. As you can see, nerves have NOT set in at all.

Here we are riding up the mountain in a Pinzgauers. It's this neat 4WD vehicle that went over some very steep and bumpy terraine. Even the ride up was an adventure. I can't believe how clear this picture came out because we were sliding and bumping around while it was being taken.

A shot of the trail we rode up. The scenery was beautiful!

The Pinzgauers

Mich happily getting suited up by our tour guide (who happened to remind us all of our cousin Brookie... Who would have thought there were TWO out there! LOL) Dad looks a bit nervous in this picture but I don't think he is yet. We're still on the ground.

Look how brave Dad was goofing around while walking across the first of many rope bridges... This was low and not too scary. Believe me, there are fewer pictures of the bridges as we went through the course because I needed to hold on. Besides, even if I had taken the camera out on them, the pictures probably would have been too blury from my shakey hands! :)

Here's Mich waiting at the first tower we jumped off. There are 2 different cables so Mich and Dad raced each other down. If you see where the guy in the far right is standing up on a ladder, that's where Mich jumped from. Dad and I went from the gate where the 3 red helmets are standing. This was a very high jump and I couldn't believe it was how we started the day out! I'm so afraid of heights! I had a tough time actually jumping off so I had to ask "Brookie" to push me. It was pretty funny. Once on the line, it was ALL fun!

I went first and got to the bottom so I could get a video of Mich and Dad coming in for a landing. The camera is a little shakey because I was still shaking from my ride. You were supposed to run up that little hill when your feet touched ground. Way to follow instructions Dad! :)

We had a bachelorette party on our tour. The girls were a lot of fun and of course fell in love with Dad, aka Pop or #1. Every time Dad got up to go, they would chant Pop Pop Pop or Num-ber 1, Num-ber 1. Mich and I didn't get how they knew until they pointed out that he was wearing his #1 Pop sweatshirt. Here's a peak at the chanting, which to no surprise, Dad was eating up.

The 2nd zipline had a running start. They told us to keep running even when we were in the air because until you really get up, you might hit the ground again. This line was the longest and highest of the day, it was 1600 feet long and at points, we were 200 feet in the air! Here's Mich taking off:

Here's a shot at a bridge further along in the course. Mich didn't seem to have any fear going across. Dad and I definitely took our time.

Me and Dad racing. I think this was the third zipline.

For this next line you jumped off what looked like a boat ramp. By this point, I was so comfortable, I was able to get some video while zipping! These next 3 clips are the same zip. The first one is me taking off. Then I turned off the camera for a bit to enjoy the ride and the incredible view, and turned it back on at the end. You can see a little of the view as well as the landing.

Here's Dad's graceful landing:

This is kind of a funny picture of Dad but it shows how you're hooked to the cable.

Mich on one of the lines

Nice face, Mich!! :)

This was the last drop. It's basically a free fall from about 80 feet up! Mich and I chose to go backwards. YIKES! Dad ran and jumped forward. I believe his exact words when asked if he wanted to drop backwards was "nah, I'd like to see how I'm going to die." :)

The whole adventure took almost 3 hours and I'm pretty sure we all had smiles on for the entire thing. It was such a rush but it wasn't overly scary. We all highly recommend it to anyone! The only problem is I don't know how the heck we'll top this next year... Skydiving, Dad????????

Daddy-Daughter Day

One more sleep until "Daddy-Daughter Day"! You probably think I'm talking about Stephe and Charlotte. I am but only by default. It's actually a tradition my father started a long time ago. For father's day every year, he does not want us to buy him anything. Instead, he wants one day with each of girls to do something fun and we're in charge of coming up with the idea. Well, this year, after unsuccessfully trying to convince my Dad to jump out of a plane, I came across this place in NH where you zipline. I wasn't sure he'd be up for it since I know he's afraid of heights but thought maybe since he really likes rollercoasters. He jumped on it without hesitation and tomorrow's the big day. Since it's a pretty cool and unique idea, Mich and Krista decided to join us... Well, Mich will zipline with us while Krista and my Mom go shopping. I'm sure this is going to be a great adventure with tons of laughs. I will update when we get back hopefully with pictures and maybe even a couple action video clips. :) I'm not to sure what Stephe and Charlotte will do on their default "Daddy-Daughter Day". I do know it starts with music class in the morning and I'm sure Stephe will come up with something fun for the rest of the day.

A Couple More Pictures

Nancy just sent these to me. She took them Sunday at our cookout. Doesn't this picture look so sweet with Charlotte and Owen holding hands???? Well, it definitely went from cute to UGLY pretty quickly. They were walking around pushing the mower and holding hands when all of a sudden I turned around and they were both screaming and gripping the lawn mower and rolling around on the ground... They both REALLY wanted it and neither was willing to back down. I have to say, I was kind of impressed with Charlotte's toughness!!

And I just thought this was a cute picture of Charlotte with her Daddy.

Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

This we weekend we celebrated Stephe's birthday with a small cookout at the house. Luckily we planned it for Sunday and not Saturday... The weather ended up being perfect, we really couldn't have asked for a nicer day.
Thank you very much to everyone for coming and for all the great cards and gifts! The party just ended and we've already taken a ride to Barnes & Noble using the GPS and of course some of the gift cards. Stephe's such a kid!

Labor Day

Last week Charlotte got a hair cut. She had one little trim a few months ago but this is the first haircut that actually kind of changed her look from baby to kid. I have to say she looks adorable! Here she is in the chair. She held that lollipop through the entire cut, she never licked it. I don't think she really understood what it was. :)

Yesterday, Mich and I took Hunter and Charlotte to the mall. The kids needed some fall clothes. Sounds like a fun day, right? Well Charlotte was not in the mood to shop and I'm pretty sure the whole mall knew it, I'm positive at least the Gap and Macy's were well aware. I thought I timed it perfectly so she would nap in the car on the way. She didn't stick to the plan though so she went in on no nap. Yikes!!! Mommy learned a big lesson about nap scheduling... If we're going to the playground on no nap, we're probably safe. But if she's going to be stuck in a stroller in a boring store, a nap is a necessity! Here's a picture of the girls on a ride in the food court. Her face tells the story. She's not screaming because she IS on a ride but she's not going to allow herself to have too much fun since she is still stuck inside.

That night I went to Aunt Phyllis and Uncle Doug's for a little pre-party party. They had a huge party planned for Labor Day and we crashed it early. I left Charlotte home with Daddy since she clearly needed to go to bed early. The other kids were all there though.
Monday was the big cookout. They had something planned for everyone! Tons of steamers, corn on the cob, chicken, burgers, dogs and the kids favorite... snow cones! Charlotte had her first snow cone. I ran to get my camera so I wouldn't miss the moment. Here's a clip: (Sorry about the shaky hands, I have to start paying attention to that when I make these clips.)

I think it's safe to say she liked it... Let me put it this way, I definitely didn't need to RUN for the camera, I could have caught the same footage many more times. Every time I turned around she had her face in a snow cone!! These were taken randomly throughout the party.

Cheering on the whiffle ball game

She had a lesson on how to make them
She even liked just stacking the cups
The sand table with green sand... Only at Aunt Phyllis'! :)
Drawing in the driveway

Swinging like a big girl

The adults played a whiffle ball game. It was quite funny!
